The volleyball squad fell to 2-5 in Western Athletic Conference loosing to both San Jose State and Utah State. The Broncos offense was no where to be found as they dropped both matches 3-0.
The Broncos' first opponent of the week, the Spartans, swiftly dispatched the orange and blue. Consistency and kills did the Broncos in, as San Jose tallied 49 kills to BSU's 26. The final match score Thursday night, was 25-11, 25-19, 25-17 in favor of the Spartans.Â
Pink was the color that ruled the Bronco Gym Saturday night, however the blue and white of the Utah State Aggies ruled the court. The Broncos fell in three games, 25-10, 25-22, 26-24 in front of a packed house on "Pink-out Night," a night supporting breast cancer awareness.  Â
"We were all excited, as girls, to wear our pink jerseys, and we are happy that a lot of people showed up wearing their pink," senior outside hitter Jeanette Jenkins said. The Broncos' enthusiasm, however, would wane fast.
AÂ rowdy Aggie student section aided in rattling the Broncos who committed 24 errors to only 32 kills. The Aggies used fan momentum to jump out to an early first game lead and never looked back, crushing the Broncos 25-10.Â
BSU kept it close in the next two games, but was unable to find a way to win down the stretch.
"We've got to take it day by day, so we're just going to go in the gym and get better, as a team, as a whole," Jenkins said.
Recent losses have left the Broncos searching for answers, as they have now dropped seven games in a row.
"We don't feel too good [regarding Saturdays match]," head coach Robin Davis said. "We couldn't hold them off."Â
Despite the recent offensive woes there are some bright spots to look toward.
"Mandy Klein was really good for us defensively and she served well, while Jeanette Jenkins was mentally tough for us and Kati Lewis was really good," Davis said. Â
The Broncos now hit the road for a four-match road trip that takes them from the bayous of Louisiana to Idaho's Vandal country.  BSU will hopefully get things figured out in their first match of the road trip against Louisiana Tech, who has yet to win in the WAC.
Following LA Tech the Broncos' road gets a little tougher. BSU will face New Mexico State, Utah State and Idaho, all of whom are in the WAC Top 5.      Â
BSU returns home Oct. 28 to finish out the regular season on a six match home-stand.
